NHS eye examination

The following groups are entitled to a ‘free’ NHS eye examination:

• Children under 16 or under 19 if still in full time education
• People and their dependants in receipt of certain state benefits
• Diabetics.
• Glaucoma sufferers - and certain of their close relatives over the age of 40.
• The registered blind and partially sighted.
• People entitled to NHS complex lens vouchers.
• People aged 60 or over.
